#PPCChat Roundup Podcast🎙

In the last couple of weeks, we had another two great PPC-related chats on very relevant to our community topics. A couple of weeks ago, we decided to dive into a chat of sharing our experience of our different career paths - we called it Finding Your Path. I have had a very unique path in PPC. With several companies, I only stayed with them for 6 months. But the longer I have been in the industry, the more confident I have been of the decisions I have made and know that they always did work for me. Our community shared our opinions on our paths, whether it’s looking the way we want it to look like and as always, we share some amazing advice.

Gil Hong shares what is important to him in a career path:

@NeptuneMoon A2: I try to base my career path on where I find the most fulfillment. Right now that's focused more on helping my teammates, providing higher level strategy for clients, and teaching others. #ppcchat

Julia Vyse shares a very important point about not being afraid to leave something that isn’t working for you:

It rhymes with eyes. 🇨🇦 🏝️🌲🌴🌊 @JuliaVyse
A3: the best lesson I ever got was leaving a group that wasn't a good fit. I thought a small, startup culture would be good for me. Turns out I like infrastructure! It's not a knock on them, they're a great group! but moving on helped me and them. #ppcchat

The feelings of struggling happens to the best of us:

A4: I still struggle sometimes. One of your brands gets a new CEO, the market changes, platforms make big changes. Even the best of us has to shift gears, test, learn and take a new path from time to time. #PPCChat

The following week a topic that has pretty much been the backbone of a lot of our issues with the industry - Copying with Diminishing Data. From Search Query reports to Performance Max, to RSAs and GA4 - wherever we look, we are losing data and control. So we have this support group style chat to discuss what we have noticed in regards to the quality, the data we are missing the most, our worries for the future and more.

Ashton, like the rest of us, has definitely noticed the lack of data on several fronts:

A2: Definitely, yes. For starters, seeing less queries in Search Terms Reports on Google Ads. On LinkedIn, Demographics reports rarely include conversion data for specific segments. Facebook conversion data feels unreliable after iOS14.5. #PPCChat

Q2: Do you find you have less PPC data to work with now than you had previously? What types of data, specifically, are diminished or less available? #PPCChat https://t.co/wFn2sxBSuK

Kristin wishes for more visibility on the ad click journey to the website:

A5. I would love ppc to provide video screenshares of the journey from the search to the ad click to the journey on your website that represents the average of interactions over a given period of time. #ppcchat

Q5: If you could wave a wand and change something about PPC data today, what would it be and why? #PPCChat https://t.co/Fb2gh4jwpN

Glenn is worried about the visibility of competitive metrics:

A6. I don't like them burying competitive metrics like "% top impression share" as it erodes faith in the auction. But I'm afraid in this instance, the fox is already in the hen house. #PPCChat

Last Q of the day! Q6: Are there any data points you’re worried about diminishing or going fully away in the near future? What’s got you concerned about these particular data points? #PPCChat https://t.co/fp1NfAJdFE
